A day at the races

Sunday 7/20 was a BIG race day for Rincon and Sero Performance athletes, up and down the California Coast, with several venturing north to test themselves at the Vineman 70.3 in Windsor, Ca., and many enjoying a fun local race, Strawberry Fields Triathlon. Mild weather and outstanding race efforts were the theme at both races.
Sero's Dan Frost and Josh Spiker were the overall winners at the Strawberry Field's Olympic Tri distance and sprint Duathlon, with Mike Shaffer making it a great effort for a sweep, but getting nipped on the run near the end of the sprint tri. Shigy also had a great day, finishing in the top 10 overall in the Olympic.
Tearing it up in the wine country, Leroy Thomas and Brian Smallwood came hope 3rd in their divisions, Jim Avrea made the podium with a 4th place finish, Frank Nelson had a course PR and a solid top 20 in an extremely deep group (40-44), and up and coming Richard Nuttall earned a qualifying spot to the 70.3 World Championship with a PR for the distance.
Congratulations to all!

On a training news subject, more and more research is coming out demonstrating that respiratory fitness is one of the most significant limitors to endurance performance. There are a number of tools and toys on the market to help address this, but the one we have found to be most effective is an instrument called Spiro Tiger. We have been testing these instruments at Sero for the past 6 months, and they definately deliver. Please contact us for more details on where you can try one.
